GROOVE / STEP / DIRECTION

Groove Index

Groove Index is part of the Gervali archive, looking closely at form, material, spacing, and visual rhythm within the escalator grooves & step lines theme.

Visual principle

Treat escalator surfaces as industrial repetition, grooves, direction, and metal rhythm rather than operation or safety advice.

What to notice

Look at repetition, edge profile, spacing, material texture, negative space, reflected light, and the way one small object becomes a visual system when viewed closely.

Editorial use

Alternate one strong anchor image with close crops, isolated details, and wider surface context so the archive feels specific rather than templated.
